La Pastorela is a colorful piece of Mexico's and San Diego's history. Almost 500 years ago Spanish monks wrote the story of the jumble shepherd's journey to see the baby Jesus with the intent of converting the Aztecs and Indians to Christianity. The story of the shepherd's triumph over evil with the help of mystical angels won them over and La Pastorela took root. La Pastorela 2006 is Teatro Mascara Magica's 16th annual presentation of the centuries old Mexican flavored "Critics Choice" play is only possible with your generous sponsorship. Please carefully consider donating to our production of "La Pastorela". Teatro Mascara Magica is in good standing as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. There will be 20 performances starting on December 5th with production ending the 23rd.
